JADE ANOUKA: CHEF
Sabrina Mahfouz's highly acclaimed play 'Chef' won a Fringe First at last year's Edinburgh Festival, and its star Jade Anouka garnered plaudits and a Stage Acting Excellence Award. So it's great news for London theatre-goers that the show begins a run at Soho Theatre this week.

THEATRE: The Trial | Young Vic | 19 Jun - 22 Aug
A new production of Franz Kafka's classic tale adapted by Nick Gill, directed by Richard Jones and starring Rory Kinnear. On his 35th birthday Josef K answers a knock at the door, to find he is being arrested. What his crimes are or who is arresting him are unclear. Details and tickets here.

FILM: Labyrinth Masquerade Ball | Prince Charles Cinema | 20 Jun (pictured)
Sometimes just sitting down and watching a film isn’t enough. Especially not with one like ‘Labyrinth’. No, for that you want to dress up, wear a mask, have a bit of a party (presided over by a David Bowie impersonator) first, and then sit down with a load of like-minded people ready to sing along with all the songs. Comedian Alex Horne and his very own house band host their own quiz, giving them the chance to show off their skills in both improvised and pre-prepared musical comedy. Also, it’s a quiz! EXHIBITION: Shoes - Pleasure And Pain | V&A | 13 Jun - 31 Jan
An exhibition looking at the extremes of footwear from around the globe, presenting around 200 pairs of shoes ranging from a sandal decorated in pure gold leaf originating from ancient Egypt to the most elaborate designs by contemporary makers. Details and tickets here.

That Mogwai have been going for 20 years is a slightly daunting thing to learn if you remember buying their debut album as clearly as I do. They're softening the blow, in partnership with ATP and the Roundhouse, with a series of shows celebrating acts that have inspired them, including Public Enemy, GZA, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and The Jesus And Mary Chain. Mogwai themselves will headline the first two nights too. Details and tickets here.

This August, Richard Herring will perform all eleven of his previous shows in sequence at the Leicester Square Theatre, finishing with a brand new one. Very funny American man Rob Delaney brings his new show 'Meat' to the Southbank Centre for three whole nights, following his recent appearance on British TV screens in the also very funny 'Catastrophe'.
