Kiss & Cry

And the LDN-based events the ThisWeek team is tipping today are….

COMEDY: Museum Of Comedy w/ Susan Calman + Jessica Fostekew | The Undercroft, St Georges Church | 25 Jun
England’s first exhibition given over entirely to comic memorabilia, Leicester Square Theatre boss Martin Witts’ Museum Of Comedy is a grotto of historic props in its own on-site venue, the Cooper Room. Workshopping rough-ish routines tonight are Susan Calman (who’ll be toting her new show ‘Lady Like’), and kooky bright spark Jessica Fostekew, who’ll rehearse ‘Jessanory’. Details and tickets here.

THEATRE/FILM: Charleroi Danse – Kiss & Cry | Barbican | 25-28 Jun (pictured)
A pair of flirtatious dancing hands create a film live on stage in filmmaker Jaco Van Dormael and choreographer Michèle Anne De Mey’s remarkable (say the reviews) ‘Kiss & Cry’, a sensual ballet that takes place in real time amidst small-scale sets, and is then projected onto a big screen. Details and tickets here.

THEATRE: The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time | Gielgud Theatre | – 14 Feb 2015
Following that shocking roof-collapse at its original Apollo Theatre venue last year (which meant the show having to break and find a new place to stay) Simon Stephens’ Olivier-winning adaptation of Mark Haddon’s ‘Curious’ is hoping to pick up again at the Gielgud with no further incident. Guildhall drama grad Graham Butler stars as an autistic boy trying to understand the world around him. Details and tickets here.
