Mt Wolf

Ah, and so dawns another day in London. Live bands, dancing, dramatic theatre (all the ‘D’s, basically). That said, dig this divine draft of arts delights…

Farmfest Launch Party feat Mt Wolf/Babeshadow, Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, 2 Jul (pictured)
An advance taster of the real thing, the usually Bruton-based Farmfest falls on Hoxton Square to present rich pickings and a pre-party to end all pre-parties. Playing live tonight are alt-pop ones-to-watch Mt Wolf and ‘dreamy’ band Babeshadow. Details and tickets here.

The American Plan, St James Theatre, 2 Jul – 10 Aug
A tangle of ‘ravaged dreams, twisted motives and deceit’, Richard Greenberg’s ‘The American Plan’ plays its plot – as the beautiful, fragile and wealthy Lili (to her mother’s chagrin) falls in love with a handsome stranger – against the vivid backcloth of the Catskill Mountains. Details and tickets here.

The Play That Goes Wrong, Trafalgar Studios, 2-20 Jul
Devised by the same team as did 2012’s acclaimed ‘Lights! Camera! Improv!’, this calamitous ‘Noises Off’-a-like traces a band of am-dram actors (played, in real life, by the very able Mischief Theatre co) as they gamely – and vainly – stage a 1920s murder thriller at the Edinburgh Festival. Details and tickets here.
