Brigitte Bardot

It’s Pi Day, so we’ve made this calculated estimate at what are London’s nicest cultural slices (going with the Pi(e) theme) today…

And Bardot Became BB, Ciné Lumière at Institut français, 14-21 Mar (pictured)
The Ciné Lumière has a petit filmic soiree focusing on Brigitte Bardot aka ‘France’s first celebrity’, screening the cream of her various comic romps, melodramas and her famed part in Jean-Luc Godard’s New Wave classique ‘Le Mépris’. Details and tickets here.

Proof, Menier Chocolate Factory, 14 Mar – 27 Apr
Polly Findlay’s first directorial stint since the National Theatre’s much-vaunted ‘Antigone’, ‘Proof’ stars the RSC’s Marah Gale as Catherine, a girl mystified by her mathematician father’s mental illness. Details and tickets here.

Thursday Lates presents… Ansel Adams: Photography from the Mountains to the Sea, National Maritime Museum, 14 Mar
The NMM arranges a late-night ‘Lates’ itinerary to match its main show, a photo-collage by American landscape admirer Ansel Adams, as features a talk by Adams’ son Michael his father’s life and times, a DIY (develop-it-yourself) darkroom class, artist Sara Haq’s ‘Space Time Travel Holidays’, and a series of classical ‘soundscapes’ composed in reply to Adams’ imagery. Details and tickets here.
