Oi, citizens of London – what say you pass a pleasant Saturday via one (or all, given time) of the following attractive arts proposals…

Up The Creek feat Katherine Ryan/George Egg/Ian Stone, Up The Creek Comedy Club, 31 Aug
Hilari-ass Canadian satirist Katherine Ryan gets lippy at the lead of this swinging Greenwich night, plying laughs side by side with variety wag George Egg and diehard comic/footie fan Ian Stone. Details and tickets here.

Maya Jane Coles, Village Underground, 31 Aug
Dance site Mixmag presents Maya Jane Coles, live and in the flesh. Having spent years as a key player in the electronica game, she’s at last celebrating her first LP release, ‘Comfort’, which is available now via her label I Am Me. Details and tickets here.

All He Fears, Puppet Theatre Barge, 31 Aug – 28 Sep
‘Theatre of Catastrophe’ maestro Howard Barker commissions and scripts this rather dark (as in, only appropriate for ages 14+) marionette drama tracing the fate of philosopher Botius, who inflicts on himself everything he dreads. Details and tickets here.

Pope Joan, St James’ Church Picadilly, 31 Aug – 15 Sep (pictured)
Louise Brealey, aka Molly in the BBC’s ‘Sherlock’, bequeathes her first play, as retells the legendary life of its titular papal lady, to the cast of the National Youth Theatre. Details and tickets here.
