Pajama Men

So, yesterday was special in all kinds of ways (the start of March, and of Girls Aloud playing ‘The Hits’ in London, oh… and International Pig Day). Whilst today isn’t any great shakes in terms of ‘pinch punch’ (or pig-based) significance – Girls Aloud, by the way, are also playing The O2 again tonight – it doesn’t take much to realise it still has a lot going for it, culturally speaking. I mean really, look at this lot…

Dave Has Mates presents… Colin Hoult and Tom Rosenthaal, Wilmington Arms, 2 Mar
Those lacking in ‘Mates’ this Saturday night can instead go hang with well-liked host David Elms and several of his most laughable BFFs, who tonight take the guises of telly stars Colin Hoult and Tom Rosenthal, live fave Pat Cahill and legitimate wit Liam Williams. Details and tickets here.

Live At The Chapel presents… The Pajama Men, Union Chapel, 2 Mar (pictured)
Inheriting the LATC headlining mantle tonight are idiosyncratic character comics (and ThreeWeeks interviewers) The Pajama Men, high-calibre Eddie Izzard-collaborator John Gordillo, and 2011 Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning card Adam Riches. Details and tickets here.

Wonder: Art And Science, Barbican Centre, 2 Mar – 10 Apr
Organised in collaboration with the Wellcome Trust, the Barbican’s ultra-intellectual multi-arts umbrella features amid its many stimulating mini-events a theatrical recreation of a ‘golden age’ Parisian debating salon; an audio-visual seminar by BBC ‘Horizon’ presenter/prof Marcus du Sautoy; and various relevant film screenings, participatory talks, and special guests like Ruby Wax and science-liking comedienne Helen Arney. Details and tickets here.
