Paul F Tompkins

Today in London’s ‘what’s on’ highlights we have DIY haunting, a heroic stand-up gala, ‘Quadrophenia’, and more…

Paul F Tompkins – Crying And Driving, Soho Theatre, 8-13 Jul
Having driven the Soho to distraction back in April, rapier-brained and sharply-clad American comic Paul F Tompkins hits the road again to spill the half-baked beans on “haunting one’s own house, disastrous attempts at pretend fatherhood, carrying a learner’s permit to kill, and marrying a woman who used a fine-print loophole to breach a castle”. Details and tickets here.

Stand Up For The Heroes Comedy Night feat Tony Law/Paul Thorne/Ben Van Der Velde/Joel Dommett, Comedy Store, 8 Jul
With tonight’s profits going to Help For Heroes, Comedy Store hordes a rich comic trove for the occasion, raking in the laughs via Canadian surrealist Tony Law, CS staple Paul Thorne, epistolary nuisance Mr Ben Van Der Velde and chiselled chancer Joe Domett. Details and tickets here.

The Who – Quadrophenia And More, Wembley Arena
Mod grandaddies The Who will light thirty candles on their ‘Quadrophenia’ cake, playing that same 1973 LP in its entirety, and adding a dash of other archival classics as a finale. Details and tickets here.
