And here we go again with our first TW recommendations of the new year – in what is traditionally a quiet week for live entertainment, two great comedy shows and a long-term ThreeWeeks favourite at the Soho Theatre…

Paco Erhard – Ex German: Has Issues, Will Travel, Leicester Square Theatre, 7-21 Jan
Errant German ‘Komiker’ Paco Erhardt tests the sequel to his instructive Fringe fave ‘5 Steps To Being German’ on an Anglo audience for the first time, airing his various Neitzschean bugbears across a couplet of shows at the illustrious LST. Event details and tickets here.

Total Hero Team, Etcetera Theatre, 7 Jan
Comic songwriting double-act MJ Hibbett and Steve trial a prototype version of their new rock opera, a fantastical sci-fi romp featuring robots, ukuleles, Boris Johnson, and Fufu The Future Kitten. Event details and tickets here.

Bane, Soho Theatre, 7-13 Jan (pictured)
Lone Fringe assassin Joe Bone once again wears myriad masks in his much-acclaimed ‘Bane’ trilogy, playing all parts in this Tarantino-esque triple-threat of a thriller, as is enhanced by guitarist Ben Roe’s live score. Read our interview with Bone here. Event details and tickets here.
