One Million

Thank heaven it’s Friday, and thank heaven (or rather, the London’s many, many arts-attractions-arrangers) for gifting the city with comical/theatrical manna like this…

TODAY’S COMEDY CHOICES

The Secret Variety Club feat Will Franken/John Kearns/The Intimate Strangers/Holly Burn/Ryan Cull, Horse Bar, 28 Jun
Shhh… tonight’s Secret Variety Club players are the TW London-approved character actor/comic Will Franken, 4/5 rated singing delights The Intimate Strangers, the “manic” and “fast-paced” John Kearns, vivacious bright spark Holly Burn and Canadian stand-up Ryan Cull. All profits go to the Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity. Details and tickets here.

TODAY’S THEATRE CHOICES

Dora The Explorer Live, New Wimbledon Theatre, 28 Jun – 30 Jun
Planet Earth’s fave Hispanic pathfinder and her animal familiars have to navigate their way past a maths pyramid, a ‘mixed-up jungle’ and Dora’s tricksy arch rival Swiper to find the City Of Lost Toys in this after-school kids show out there in Wimbledon. Details and tickets here.

One Million, Royal Artillery Square, 28-29 Jun (pictured)
Daring aerial aces Tangled Feet present this high-wire show based on regrettable stats relating to the nation’s jobless 18-25s, this as a free finale to this year’s Greenwich And Docklands Festival. A live-action cast of dancers, acrobats and musicians mime ‘climbing the ladder’ (to find that rare job vacancy) to an original score by Monroe Transfer’s Nick Gill and Guy Connelly of Clock Opera. Details here.
