And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

COMEDY: John Hegley – New And Selected Potatoes | King’s Place | 19 Mar
The world can be easily categorised into two types of people: People who like John Hegley, and people who shouldn’t be trusted. Oh sure, you might argue, some of those people in the second category might just not be aware of him yet. Well, I wouldn’t lend them money. Unless, perhaps, it was to buy a ticket for this show. Details and tickets here.

FILM: BFI Flare – The London LGBT Film Festival | BFI Southbank | 19-29 Mar
The 29th edition of the BFI’s annual LBGT film festival begins today, kicking off a ten day programme exploring the best in queer cinema from around the world with a screening of ‘I Am Michael’ starring James Franco. Details and tickets here.

MUSIC: Sam Lee album launch shows | various venues | 17-20 Mar (pictured)
Mercury nominated folk musician launches his new album, ‘The Fade In Time’, with a series of shows around London this week. Tonight he plays Sandy’s Row Synagogue, which I’m singling out because it looks like an amazing (not to mention unusual) place to see some live music. Details and tickets here.
