And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

DANCE: Lest We Forget | Sadler’s Wells | 8-12 Sep
Sombre subject matter broached by English National Ballet, but it sounds like it will make for great viewing, as it’s the work of three accomplished choreographers, Liam Scarlett, Russell Maliphant and Akram Khan. Their three separate pieces form a reflection on the first world war, focusing on the experiences of those who fought in the war, and those who stayed at home. Info and tickets here.

THEATRE: Jane Eyre | National Theatre | 8-27 Sep
I don’t need to introduce you all to what Jane Eyre is about (if I do, er, look it up), and this re-imagining of the Charlotte Bronte novel was staged to high acclaim last year by Bristol Old Vic. This only slightly different version (in that it’s performed in a single night instead of over two separate evenings) heads for a run at the National this week. See this page here for info and tickets.

MUSIC: FFS | The Forum | 8 Sep (pictured)
FFS – the super-groupy collaboration of Franz Ferdinand and Sparks – performed a date at the recent Edinburgh Festival (yes, it will probably be a few weeks before we stop talking about things we saw there) and received a very positive review from one of our writers. You can read that review here, and you can find out more info and sort out tickets right about here.
