And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

Madame Tussaud – Waxing Lyrical | Rosemary Branch Theatre | 7-9 Jul
I’m kind of interested in Madame Tussaud, because women are so often airbrushed out of history – their achievements forgotten or credited to men, or only famous because they were a king’s mistress or something, yet his woman managed to leave an indelible mark on history and our collective consciousness. Which is why I’d like to see this show, a one woman piece exploring the life of the lady synonymous with waxworks. Info here.

The Kreutzer Sonata | Arcola Theatre | 6-23 Jul
This sounds fab. Leo Tolstoy‘s 1889 novella ‘The Kreutzer Sonata’ was immensely controversial and was censored by Russian authorities immediately following its publication because it expressed radical views on sex and marriage. This adaptation is by acclaimed playwright Nancy Harris, and features RSC associate artist Greg Hicks, accompanied by a live music duo. See the venue website here for info and to book.

Juliette Burton – Decision Time | Leicester Square Theatre | 7 Jul (pictured)
Much acclaimed ‘docu-comedian’ and campaigner Juliette Burton is the latest edfringe preview-er to pop up over at Leicester Square Theatre. Her new show focuses on decisions and how they affect our lives, why it’s so hard to make them, and whether things would turn out differently if we’d chosen a different way. Juliette’s got her own big decision to make, and this show might just help her make up her mind about it. I think you lot should make up your minds to book a ticket, and follow this link here.
