Three To See on 2 Oct: Making It, Measure For Measure, Sleaford Mods
By TW Editorial | Published on Friday 25 September 2015
And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…
Making It | Canal Cafe Theatre | 2-10 Oct (pictured)
One for all the struggling actors out there who need to know that they are not alone… in this short-but-sweet one woman comedy drama, Davina Leonard gives an engaging and confident turn as aspiring performer Jess, detailing her trials and tribulations and the characters she meets along the way. See this page here for more info and to book.
Measure For Measure | Young Vic | 1 Oct-14 Nov
Well, it may be one of the bard’s “problem plays” but I’m sure Young Vic Artistic Associate Joe Hill-Gibbins is up to the challenge. More importantly, Romola Garai is in it, and I like her a lot, because she’s an angry feminist with an expressive face and a propensity to swear a lot. Like me. Tickets and info here.
Sleaford Mods | The Forum | 2 Oct
If you are a big fan of ranty post punk/hip hop pairing Sleaford Mods, then this is definitely a good week for you. Not only can you see them at this gig, which I am tipping here, you can also catch a screening of their documentary ‘Invisible Britain’ at the previously-tipped Doc n Roll Festival the following day. Don’t say I don’t offer you doubly delightful treats. More info and tickets for the gig here, and more info on the film here.
