And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

Craig Campbell – Don’t Look Down | Leicester Square Theatre | 18 June
If you are a regular partaker of the live comedy scene there’s every chance you need absolutely no introduction to this highly accomplished stand-up act. We’ve been fans of Craig Campbell for donkey’s years (yes, donkey’s) and can predict that if you choose to see this show, you will have a very good time. Not least because this is the last date on a UK tour, so he’ll be well practised at it. See the venue website here for more details and to book.

Gertrude – The Cry | Theatre N16 | 12-30 June (pictured)
Howard Barker’s re-working of ‘Hamlet’, which premiered back in 2002 at Elsinore Castle is apparently quite a brutal, risqué piece that focuses on analysing lust, female sexuality, and female emancipation. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. The good news is that it’s on at Theatre N16 and it’s being directed by the lovely Chris Hislop, who I am sure has done a very good job. Book your tickets here.

Love, Bombs and Apples | Arcola Theatre | 31 May-25 Jun
A second chance to see this highly acclaimed set of four monologues by Hassan Abdulrazzak, with with all four characters played by the hugely talented Asif Khan. Four men, scattered across the globe, each experience a significant revelation. The resulting play is funny, inspiring, insightful, powerful and satirical. It’s only on for a few more dates so get your skates on and head over to this page here for all the info.
