And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are..

Robin Clyfan – The Sea Is Big Enough To Take It | 2Northdown | 12 May
I expect the Edinburgh previews will start coming thicker and faster over the next few weeks, so you may as well brace yourselves to hear a fair amount about them from us. And, so, without further ado, is one of said previews, courtesy of up and comer Robin Clyfan. “A tender account of Robin trying to impress his activist mother”, runs the blurb. “A debut show about loss, growing up and dressing as a massive baby for cash.” Head this way to book.

A Little Mochi Man | Stratford Circus | 12 May (pictured)
“It’s almost New Year and little Mochi Man, tired of being bullied because of his small size, decides to run away. Join him on his adventures as he travels from the snowy mountains of Hokkaido, to the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, meeting many wondrous creatures and characters along the way, including The Gingerbread Man and a very fast bullet train! What dangers lurk around the corner? Will he make friends, and will he make it back home in time for the celebrations?” Lovely sounding children’s show mixing modern with traditional Japanese forms of story-telling, see this page here.

Damage Control | The Playground Theatre | 11-12 May
I’m intrigued by the sound of this, an immersive theatrical event inspired by Josie Spencer’s sculpture installation Murmuration, which is on display at the venue until 19 May. The piece explores the language of emergency used around events such as The Great Fire Of London and the Grenfell Tower fire, combining first hand accounts of disasters with recordings of such events and the sounds of a live community choir. For all the details see this page here.
