23 May: Hawaiian Bop, Foodies Festival, and the Labyrinth Masquerade Ball
By TW Editorial | Published on Saturday 16 May 2015
And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…
EVENT: Foodies Festival | Syon Park | 23-25 May
Do you like food? Might you consider yourself a ‘foodie’? And how about going outside, are you up for that? Well then this is the event for you. A whole three days of chefs and food makers showing off their skills and wares. There’s even a daily chilli eating challenge, to ensure you don’t forget the event for some time afterwards. Details and tickets here.
FILM: Labyrinth Masquerade Ball | Prince Charles Cinema | 23 May (pictured)
Sometimes just sitting down and watching a film isn’t enough. Especially not with one like ‘Labyrinth’. No, for that you want to dress up, wear a mask, have a bit of a party (presided over by a David Bowie impersonator) first, and then sit down with a load of like-minded people ready to sing along with all the songs. And that is what this is, if I hadn’t made that clear. Details and tickets here.
MUSIC: Hawaiian Bop | CLF Art Cafe | 23 May
I don’t know about you, but I don’t go to enough Hawaiian-themed club nights. As a child, American movies make be believe that this was a major part of adult life. Bloody Hollywood. Well, luckily there’s one right here, with a range of great music spanning the 40s to the 60s. Details and tickets here.
