TODAY IN LONDON ex-Stereolab babe Lætitia Sadier, electro-soul man Cooly G and sketch trio The RH Experience feature in the following TW-recommended events…
COMEDY: The RH Experience – Stuck!, Leicester Square Theatre, 19 Oct
Meriting a 4/5 ThreeWeeks review when they appeared at the EdinburghFringe earlier this year, sketch trio The RH Experience deliver freeform improv rooted in the premise they’re three strangers ‘Stuck!’ in a broken lift. Details and tickets here.
MUSIC: Daylight Music feat Lætitia Sadier/Angèle David-Guillou, Union Chapel, 19 Oct (pictured)
The basic schtick with Daylight Music gigs is that a) they’re free (though donations are welcome), and b) they take place while it’s still light, ie in the daytime. Today’s diurnal line-up is led by one-time Stereolab lady Lætitia Sadier, who gives voice to her new solo LP ‘Silencio’, and features the sensual stylings of French instrumentalist Angèle David-Guillou. Details and tickets here.
MUSIC: Oxjam Brixton Takeover, various locations, 19 Oct
Oxfam’s all-day Brixton jam digs in at The Windmill, The Prince Of Wales, The White Horse, The Ritzy and Effra Social, presenting a mixed serving of genres – represented by electro sensualist Cooly G, Horse Meat Disco DJ Severino, techno type Youth, rising singer-songwriter Misty Miller and indie-idols-in-waiting Whales In Cubicles. All shows, and a range of reggae, garage, rock and roots-based showcases, are all accessible via a single £10 wristband. Details and tickets here.
