Musical revivals, modern musical treats and some unmasked comics all appear in this batch of ThisWeek TODAY IN LONDON tips…

THEATRE: Pajama Game, Shaftesbury Theatre, 2 May – 13 Sep
Richard Eyre revives this perky, light-stepping 1954 musical, which features hits like ‘Hey There’, ‘Once-A-Year Day’, and ‘Steam Heat’, all swirled inside the story of factory girl (and social campaigner) Babe Williams’ blossoming romance with her swish and swoonsome Superintendent Sid Sorokin. Details and tickets here.

MUSIC: Elsewhere Festival, various locations, Hackney, 2-3 May
Party-planners Dollop bring a ladle-load of high-calibre acts – top talk-rap lad Mike Skinner, atypical R&B lady Kelela (pictured), slick and syrupy Canadian beatsmith Ryan Hemsworth, bass player Actress and minimalist dance DJ Floating Points – to this vari-sited two-day jaunt, which takes place all over the so-hot-right-now locale of Hackney. Details and tickets here.

VISUAL ART: Comics Unmasked – Art And Anarchy In The UK, British Library, 2 May – 19 Aug
This anti-nice day at the library – not really one to take the kids to – is the biggest conglom of graphic art in the history of the British comic book. Showcasing works by icons like ‘Sandman’ artist Neil Gaiman, ‘Watchmen’ scribe Alan Moore, and ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’ creator Grant Morrison, it traces the bold, violent and anarchic world of the comic strip, from 200 year-old cartoons of Jack The Ripper, to the highest-tech digital pix of the present day. Details and tickets here.
