Three To See 10-16 Jun: Theatre, Comedy, and more…

SHORT STOPS

Kelly | OSO Arts Centre | 11-13 Jun
We’re starting this week’s tips with some shows that aren’t on for long, so be warned, and book tickets ASAP so you don’t miss them. First up, a critically acclaimed award winning psychological thriller from Australia, which “challenges everything we know” about the legendary Ned Kelly. Find out more about the play and book your tickets here.

100% Badgers With Matt Hobbs | Museum Of Comedy | 11 Jun (pictured)
Well, I am a huge fan of badgers, obviously. I mean, who isn’t? And if you are not, you should be. But I suspect you don’t really need to be a badger fan to enjoy this show, which won a lot of fans at the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It’s an informative comedy show that sees Matt Hobbs detailing his own journey to badger obsession, click here for all the details.

All The Rage: A Theatrical Response To The Epstein Files | Theatre Deli | 11-13 Jun
This is interesting, a site responsive production that offers a two part experience featuring the voices of more than 70 playwrights: the first half will see audiences exploring an office floor where installations, performances and scenes will unfold, and in the second half audiences will come together for a “unifying act”. Lots more info about it all here.

LONGER RUNS

A Fine Idea | Arcola Theatre | 11 Jun-4 Jul  (pictured)
And now for some longer runs, so you can relax a bit, plan ahead if you want to and put all the stress of those short runs behind you. Let’s head first to the Arcola Theatre, for a show about activism that asks the question “Do we really want to change things – or do we just like the idea of helping?” Head to the venue website here to find out more.

Soldiers Of Tomorrow | Finborough Theatre | 10 Jun-4 Jul
Itai Erdal, a former conscripted soldier in Israel, is accompanied by Syria-born musician Emad Armoush, to share his story and offer personal insights into the Arab-Israeli conflict, the occupation of Palestine, and everything that led to the horrifying events of recent times. Each performance is followed by a post-show discussion, read about the show here.

Driftwood | Kiln Theatre | until 4 Jul
“Heat is rising in colonial Trinidad. While support for political independence is growing, a downtown Port Of Spain gentlemen’s club is about to be entangled in a custody battle of its own”. A first play from actor/writer/director Martina Laird, directed by Justin Audibert, ‘Driftwood’ is a powerful and passionate drama. Find out more about it here.

MORE GREAT STUFF

Ayoade Bamgboye: Swings And Roundabouts | Soho Theatre Dean Street | 15-24 Jun (pictured)
Three final tips for you, for very brilliant and promising stuff, and this one’s a comedy show from the excellent Ayoade Bamgboye. If, like me, you’ve lately been tuning into ‘SNL UK’, you’ll be more than aware of her excellence, but if that’s not enough for you, we gave this show a resounding five out of five up at the edfringe last summer. Book here.

Dead Guilty | Tabard Theatre | 10-27 Jun
“Julia is badly injured in a car crash when her employer suffers a fatal heart attack at the wheel. Housebound and fragile, she cuts herself off from friends and colleagues and depends on the two people she has persuaded herself she can trust. But can she?” A tense thriller from Richard Harris, who has written for lots of TV detective type shows as well as creating great theatre. Click here.

Ron | Riverside Studios | 13 Jun-5 Jul
And last but not least, why not make a date with ‘Ron’, a genre defying solo show from Ted Walliker, which blends comedy with storytelling and performance. Expect “an absurd, violent, genre-bending queer odyssey exploring the nature of unrequited love – how far would you go to show someone you love them?” Head to this page here to sort out your tickets.
